Rick Coffey is the founder and owner of Richard W. Coffey and Associates, LLC. Rick brings significant knowledge and expertise gained from over 35 years professional work experience. Rick has served in professional and leadership roles in three major corporations, including in executive roles in human resources, workforce planning and development, learning and development, and change management. Rick’s experience includes serving as senior directors in large, geographically dispersed, and highly complex organizations. He has significant domestic experience, having led organizations with teams residing in over 20 states and also has international work experience, on projects in Asia and the Middle East.
Rick has extensive experience working with all levels of management, from frontline supervisors, to mid-level managers, to executive and C-suite leadership. During his career, Rick has had the opportunity to provide impactful mentoring and coaching to well over 100 individuals.
In addition to his work in the private sector, Rick has considerable experience in serving as an advisor and consult to nonprofit organizations. This support include shaping and supporting large-scale workforce development strategies at the county and regional levels , the oversight and administration of a vocational education center, supporting the creation of multiple high school career technical education (CTE) pathway programs, and serving on the board of several nonprofit organizations.

He has an MS from Carnegie Mellon University in Technology Management, with an emphasis on learning sciences. He holds a doctoral (Ed.D.) degree in Vocational, Technical, and Occupational Education from Nova Southeastern University. Rick is a graduate of the Columbia University Senior Executive Program (CSEP) and also is a Stanford Certified Project Manager (SCPM).
Rick has an extensive background in corporate training and workforce development and has designed, developed, and facilitated highly interactive courses and workshops for over 25 years. The types of programs he has developed include leadership development, business acumen, change management, project and program management, foundational supervisory skills, effective communications, diversity and inclusion, strategic planning, risk and opportunity management, and building high-performance teams.
